About PPIMC

Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry is an Institute of excellence of the Romanian Academy. Established in February 1949. Nowadays, the institute is extended on an area of ten thousand square meters, including laboratories for synthesis and analysis, conference hall, library, production units, mechanical and electrical workrooms. 

 

Its research team achievements are well recognized in Romania and abroad, and the Institute is for many years in the first line of the Romanian research with long tradition in fundamental and applied research in macromolecular chemistry, physical chemistry, physics and materials science. It has a research team whose achievements are recognized in Romania and abroad, and the Institute is for many years at the front line of Romanian research. 

 

The facilities include chemistry laboratories and well-equipped laboratories for the synthesis and characterisation of different polymers and nanocomposite materials (Infrastructure - Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry "Petru Poni" Iasi (icmpp.ro)). 

 

PPIMC has been participating in many national and international research projects and is member in different international networks (COST, EPNOE, MoDeSt, etc.); has experience in collaboration with national/international institutions, as well as with the industry. PPIMC is also involved in doctoral studies and master students training.
